Battered in Bristol

In a season where you would think it couldn’t get any worse, Bolton always seem to find a way. Six goals conceded, to six different scorers, to now find themselves twelve points from safety.

There were defensive errors, the back four put one solitary tackle in all afternoon (Rob Holding made it), players played out of position, no creativity and nothing up front apart from some Kaiyne Woolery running.

We didn’t waste any time in being rubbish. Paul Rachubka made his one save of note and that still ended up straight at Aaron Wilbraham who slotted home.

Within 12 minutes, it was two, as Lee Tomlin struck home getting on the end of a Nathan Baker punt. Two turned to three just after the break as Peter Odemwingie then got in the act.

Scott Wagstaff made it four after Jonathan Kodjia set him up for an easy finish. Kodjia scored the fifth after Adam Matthews crossed in, then Joe Bryan finished it all off.

I couldn’t go. But to lose 6-0 to a team who are 19th in the table, regardless of their good recent form, means I had to see little of it to realise it was just rubbish. Absolutely rubbish. I might need a beer just after writing this match report.
