Things looked bright for Portsmouth until recently. An FA Cup triumph, a squad with players who are more than capable and a manager who said that he loved the club. Now they`re skint, and the man with the biggest jowls in football has joined Spurs.
That Sam Allardyce has been installed as favourite to replace him probably won`t go down well on the South coast. Despite his relative success with Bolton, the man with second biggest jowls in football is as popular as a strippergram at a funeral with fans of other clubs. Newcastle supporters hated him. Blackburn didn`t want him. Nor did Nottingham Forest, despite being glued to the foot of the Championship.
Sam is currently favourite to get the gig at Fratton Park. Cheer up lads. It could be worse. You could have Gary Megson for manager.
