Big Sam is worried about falling attendances and the price of watching Premeirship football.

‘It’s happening throughout the country. Everybody is suffering from supporters not turning up. We will have to address that.

‘We should make it cheaper for the fans. The interest is there if the price is right. It’s very important we look at that.

‘Sell 20,000-plus season tickets and fill the stadium and use the extra 60 to 70 per cent Sky TV money to develop the team, the academy and the younger players plus the facilities.’

Big Sam knows Bolton will never be big spenders and seems to understand that.

‘I’m ambitious and it’s difficult for people to go at my pace, but we’ve gone forward together extremely well. But I’m never satisfied, if I was it would be a worry for me.

‘I’m always trying to find something that should be bettered or moved forward. This club could be a big club if, we won something and invested slowly but surely with the right players. We’re all going to be richer next season with the TV money, but we won’t really be because the players will want it all.’

Players want it all? Does this need to be addressed and who’s going to do it?
