Bolton Add Two Ahead Of Cheltenham Game

|

Bolton have announced a double signing just moments before handing in the teamsheet for today’s match against Cheltenham – and both have gone straight into the side.

Ben Jackson and Zachary Elbouzedi have arrived on loan from Huddersfield and Lincoln respectively – and will play at left back and probably right midfield respectively.

Jackson is a full back who has been at the John Smith’s Stadium for all his career – although his league appearances have come at loan spells for Darlington and home town club Stockport. He’s a pacy player, and over the course of the remaining games you’d guess he’d be back-up to Declan John, although with the head start of getting into the team, if he does well, then there’s the dilemma of dropping him.

Elbouzedi has had a nomadic career even at the age of 22. The Irishman of Libyan heritage started his career at West Brom, but couldn’t break into the first team. After a spell up in the north of Scotland, he went back to Ireland, where he had an impressive season for Waterford in 2019, scoring six in 28. He’s been described as an exciting prospect and a ‘flair player’ who can create goals too. He joined Lincoln last January, but has been unable to break into the first team. He’s not lived up to some of the hype bestowed on him so far, but there’s no reason he can’t do a job for us here.

We won’t have to wait long to see them either…
