Bolton – Arsenal FA Cup Thoughts

Bolton have no chance of defeating Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this coming Sunday. Arsenal are on a roll and Bolton have stuttered recently, especially at the Riverside last weekend. Never mind the fact that Van Persie, Hleb, and Gilberto Silva will be missing – it just means that we have Henry, Walcott and the rest to worry about.

The comeback against Spurs the other night was awesome. Arsenal perhaps should have gone on to win the game. They had the chances but didn`t take them.

You can even forget Bolton`s form at Highbury where we have drawn in the past few seasons. It doesn`t mean anything.

So, if Bolton get anything out of this game it will be a total bonus. If we can eke out a win, then Arsenal will be humiliated and the papers will be full of ‘bogey-team` type headlines.

Big Sam will have a plan. He will want to stop the game becoming a flowing spectacle because we can`t win a game like that against Arsenal when they`re on form. He`ll want to maximise Lehmann`s problems in the box, which we always seem to be able to exploit. You never know, the gobby German might get the sending off that his behaviour often deserves. We`ll hold a deepish line, trying to stop the pace of the Arsenal strikers while looking for Anelka to punish them on the counter-attack.

Can Bolton win the game? I`m not expecting them to but I`m hoping that they might.
