Bolton got back to winning ways after beating Millwall 2-0 at the Macron.

After losing to Peterborough pretty neekly last week there were questions to be answered, particularly from Ben Alnwick replacing the injured Mark Howard, plus with the loss of David Wheater, presumably due to injury also, Derik got a chance at centre back

One pre match positive was Jay Spearing, who was given the green light to return to the starting lineup.

In the match, Bolton were great. Millwall had been in form, winning their last five matches, but they were made to look pretty ordinary today.

What wasn’t ordinary was our first goal, Josh Vela with a volley from the edge of the area midway through the first half. For all the critiques about our no-frills approach (which is fair) we’ve been treated to some cracking goals.

Tom Thorpe replaced Liam Trotter for the second half to reinforce the midfield, and ended up on the scoresheet too early in the second half heading home a corner emphatically.

From there, we looked comfortable, with Ameobi and Clough giving the Millwall defence the run around too.
