Bolton Face Stern Norwich Test

|

Bolton face seond-placed Norwich tomorrow afternoon, but they do so off the back of an unlikely away win at Birmingham during the week, while our opponents come off the back of a defeat, having also lost to Preston.

Clutching at straws perhaps, but hopefully Tuesday’s victory will have injected a little bit of confidence…

Team news

Gary O’Neil and Marc Wilson are both injury doubts, while Jonathan Grounds could come back into the team having been unable to play against parent club Birmingham. Luca Connell is among the longer-term injuries, but he could be back in time for the Swansea game in a fortnight.

Facts and stats

Bolton beat the Canaries last season, with a 2-1 win in November being only the second league victory that season. This season’s reverse fixture was in December, when we were 2-0 down, clawed it back to 2-2, before Teemu Pukki ensured we still lost.

Norwich has won two and drawn two of their last four away league games before Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat at Preston. Bolton have just one win in their last five home games.

Bolton have scored 21 Championship goals. Norwich striker Teemu Pukki has also scored 21 Championship goals.

Match prediction

While we can probably have a bit more confidence after Tuesday, I would still be surprised to get anything out of this. Bolton 1-2 Norwich.
