Bolton Face Tough Prospect At Bramall Lane

|

Bolton face a tough game tomorrow. Football.

Joking aside though, tomorrow sees Wanderers made the trip through the Peaks to take on Sheffield United, who are looking to get out the division in the opposite and far more positive direction. It’ll also probably see us face Gary Madine for the first time since he left us, as he joined the Blades on loan a few weeks ago.

Hmmm….

Team news

Ben Alnwick, Mark Beevers and Marc Wilson are all doubtful, Joe Williams and Yanic Wildschut remain absent, Callum Connolly in theory could play after signing yesterday. Sheffield United did sign a striker on deadline day and Scott Hogan could make his debut tomorrow.

Facts and stats

When we lose tomorrow, it’ll be the first double Sheffield United have done to us since the 1947-48 season.

Bolton’s only goal in the last four enounters with Sheffield United came in the sole win out of those games, when Madine scored in December 2017’s 1-0 win at Bramall Lane. This season’s reverse fixture was a 3-0 home loss at the end of August.

Wanderers are 12 without a win away from home, and have lost their last five since picking up a point at Millwall in November.

We’ve been a bit negative here, but no side has beaten Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United more than us. We’ve had three victories over them since he took over (out of six games).

Match prediction

I have a feeling this will be a long afternoon. 3-0 to them.
