Bolton’s Accounts Are out

Yes, it’s another financial piece.

Another night, another not very well thought out piece about our finances from us.

Earlier today, Wanderers accounts for the 2014-15 season, yes, that overdue, were laid bare for all to see. To show how long ago that was, Dougie Freedman started the season as manager and Paddy Kenny was on the club’s books.

There are things in there that were expected. The debt numbers, and the fact we’re projected to lose about £11million for the season (not including player sales). No surprises there. Anyone would have to assume anyone who took over the club would have to absorb the losses for the foreseeable future.

What looks increasingly terrifying is the current owners’ ability to do just that. £5.5m is owed and overdue to Prescot Business Parks. Ken Anderson marked the revealing of the accounts by basically calling Dean Holdsworth a liar on the official site, while the latter said those accusations were defamatory.

The two are at an obvious impasse, and the longer this continues, and the club won’t stop losing money while blows are traded, the more it will cripple the club.

It doesn’t bode well that the independent auditor won’t express an opinion on the financial statements.

Lots of uncertainty then. Yippee.
