Lukas Jutkiewicz’s Middlesbrough future will be decided at the end of the season when he returns to his parent club at the end of his loan with Bolton.

Aitor Karanka, the Middlesbrough boss, has been happy to see the striker getting some regular games and impressing but he isn’t sure ‘what will happen’ yet but talks will take place in the summer.

He was quoted on sky sports as saying: ‘When the season is finished, we will sit down with Lukas and talk about the future.

‘I don’t know what will happen with him – it is something for the future rather than now.

‘I am very happy with the way he has been playing. When we sat down together to discuss what was going to happen earlier in the season, we came up with the solution of him going to Bolton on loan because we all wanted the same thing.

‘It was very important for him to go somewhere and score goals so he could get more confidence. I am pleased that has happened, and I know more now than I knew at the beginning. I am happy, Lukas is happy and Bolton are happy. We will leave it until the summer.’

In his 10 starts since arriving at the Reebok the 24-year-old has managed to score five goals, which compares with just the single goal in 20 outings for Boro before his January arrival.

Jutkiewicz has expressed a desire to stay with Bolton, a transfer fee would be required though with him still under contract so there is still plenty to be discussed both with the Boro side of things but also on the Bolton side?

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
