Jermaine Beckford has finally been confirmed as a Bolton Wanderers player. Let’s just hope he’s been worth the wait

For the fans who care not whether Jermaine Beckford joins the ranks at the Reebok Stadium, this news will be both tired and trivial.

The drawn-out pursuit of the 29-year-old striker has finally come to an end, as Beckford joins the Trotters on a two-year deal following two seasons with the Foxes.
During his time at the midlands club, he scored 15 times in 49 appearances after a move from Premier League side, Everton. Beckford spent most of last term on loan at Huddersfield and bagged eight goals in 21 Championship outings, helping the Terriers narrowly avoid relegation to League One.
Dougie played alongside Beckford during their days at Leeds so he has a good idea of what the marksman is all about.

His move to the Reebok comes two weeks after personal terms were agreed and even though a fee has been paid for Jermaine, reports from Everton are claiming all the money will be going to them. A free transfer looked likely after it was revealed Leicester would have to pay the Toffees £1m if Beckford played just one more competitive game. Now it would seem the Foxes didn`t complete their £2.5m agreed fee back in August 2011.
