BWFC: Gone

Our club captain, Jay Spearing who was in talks with Watford earlier this window has joined Blackburn Rovers on loan until the end of the season. While nothing other than the current loan deal in place has been announced, I presume that this could well be with a view to a permanent transfer for the former Liverpool midfielder- Blackburn previously attempted to sign him before he signed permanently for Bolton in 2013.

Under new manager, Neil Lennon, Spearing has stuggled for first team oppourtunities as the Northern Irishman has opted mainly for the likes of Neil Danns and Darren Pratley (the former has just signed a new contract by the way).

He was set to join Watford a week ago, however Neil Lennon blocked the move as injuries mounted. However, following the additions of Rochinha and Adam Le Fondre, Lennon has given this move the go ahead.

His appearances at Liverpool and Rotheram sparked thought that his career in a Bolton shirt may continue. However, it was not to be and he is likely to move on in the Summer.

Shame. Cheers for your hard work, ol’ Jay. See you soon?
