With Bogdan gone through the exit door towards the red side of Merseyside and Amos on his way in from the red side of Manchester isthis a good or bad deal for the Wanderers?

Adam Bogdan, the 6ft 4 Hungarian leaves Bolton for Liverpool Football Club, once at the pinnacle of English football, now a mediocre mid table side. Nobody can blame him for leaving for more money and more game time, well maybe not more game time, but you get the picture. Bogdan who is certainly a high earner at the Macron could free up some money on that ever growing wage bill of ours.

Ben Amos another ginger haired goalkeeper is the man given the task to replace Bogdan. The Macclesfield born, Manchester United youth product has struggled to make an impression on his recent Manchester United Managers. Amos has been loaned out to 6 different clubs in the past 7 years and him not cementing a place in the Manchester United squad means Louis Van Gaal looks too offload the Englishman.

One of the 6 clubs Amos was loaned out too was the Whites, after appearing as a substitute in the 4-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest which led to him having a 9 game stint for Wanderers he certainly made on impression on not only the fans but Neil Lennon too. With an impressive display against Brighton at home which led to a rare clean sheet for the Trotters, Amos showed off his talents to the Macron faithful.

Amos, the acrobatic goalie is definitely a quality buy for Mr Lennon who is struggling to put a foot hold in this transfer window. Key targets slipping away at the last minute is extremely worrying, Craig Morgan for example who looked on course to sign for Bolton on a free transfer at the start of the week just penned a deal to sign for rivals Wigan Athletic, and yes, he choose League 1 over the championship, this really does show that money takes centre stage in some footballers career. If Morgan would of signed him and Amos could fill that gap in the defence alongside Mr versatile and player of the year Tim Ream, these could metaphorically of filled that hole in the Wanderers defence which has made us struggle so much in the recent Championship seasons, however Neil Lennon needs to put this aside and concentrate on rebuilding the squad.

With the clock ticking away until the end of the transfer window Neil Lennon needs to sure up this rotting defence and he needs to this extremely quick. Amos signing is certainly a start, and with other potential candidates to help the manager out including Maynor Figueroa of Hull and Chris Baird from West Brom who are two of the many players released by Premier clubs. They could both be looking for a step down in quality. Their wage demands are another thing, with money on the short side Lennon might have to look too the lower leagues and maybe even bring some youngsters through the ranks, with Quade Taylor recently signing a new deal he could throw the tall centre back into the mix, this would be a risk, however I have full faith in Mr Lennon who has brought the likes of Zach Clough into the first team and made him and many other youngsters improve. Neil Lennon has a massive job on his hands in the coming months but it looks like he`ll have the backing of the Wanderers supporters.
