Jack Crosland on who he would sell and keep this January

With the January sales looming there`s not much to be excited about at BWFC. In fact from a purely football aspect it`s damage limitation as Neil Lennon will hope to come out of the window with key men like Clough, Vela and Davies still at the Macron. There are certain members of the squad, however, that Lennon would probably love to see the back of. New man Terry Robinson has been brought in to facilitate transfers out of the club and this article aims to offer him a helping hand as to who we should look to shift, and who we should keep to help complete the great escape.

Ben Amos

Start off with an easy one. Amos isn`t a big earner, is a key player and his value will only increase in happier times. He would also need replacing so he is an obvious ‘keep`.

Keep.

Francesco Pisano

Pisano promised much but has delivered little in his short Wanderers career. He has only made 3 appearances in a white shirt in the middle of a horrendous run of form and currently finds himself 3rd choice right back. He`s already been linked with a return to Italy and may be one of the first to go.

Get Rid.

Dorian Dervite

Had his best spell last season alongside Matt Mills as Wanderers surged towards the play offs and took on Liverpool at Anfield. This season has been a polar opposite though and he is well behind even the dodgy looking Prince Desir Guano in the pecking order. If there is someone out there willing to take him on, I`m sure he`ll be shifted.

Get Rid.

David Wheater

He`s been at the club since 2011 and is popular member in an otherwise largely unlikable group of players. He was immense on Monday and seems to calm down Prince a little when he plays alongside him. Unfortunately he is probably on bigger wages than others in the squad and carries a bit more of a reputation and may attract interest too tempting for Terry Robinson to turn down. It would be a huge loss though and as he`s far from our highest earner I would be desperate for him to stay.

Keep.

Dean Moxey

He`s turned his reputation at Wanderers around since joining from Crystal Palace. Once vastly unpopular, he is now a key man and provided the assist for Gary Madine to bundle the ball over the line on Monday. Unfortunately he has a proven track record in the Championship and he has already attracted interest from our league rivals. I hope he stays but I fear the more erratic Casado may be our first choice LB come February.

Keep (But will probably leave).

Mark Davies

I`ll be in a minority here but I actually wouldn`t mind Davies moving on. He is obviously a very talented player but he is so inconsistent that, couple with his high wage, makes him a prime candidate to be sacrificed. In an ideal world I would love to keep him but if it came down to a straight choice between him and Vela, I`d chose to keep the youngster.

Get Rid.

Josh Vela

I would be gutted if Josh left. I`m such a big fan of the midfielder and given a run of games in central midfield I think he would be key in a successful relegation battle. The rumours linking him to Cardiff are worrying though and I hope we resist the temptation to cash in. £450,000 is so low for a home-grown promising player. His low wage may mean he stays at the Macron but are we really in a position to turn down a cash bid of any kind?

Keep.

Darren Pratley

This is a difficult one as he is so out of form you would be tempted to try and shift him. That said, we saw glimpses of his old self against Blackburn and we all know what a key man he can be. He probably isn`t one that will be actively flogged about but if any sort of cash offer came in, he would be sold.

Don`t let leave for nothing.

Zach Clough

Again, I would be gutted if we lost ‘Zachinho`. He gives us a chance of winning any game as he could always score a goal and create chances for others. His low wage may prolong his Wanderers career but if a sizeable bid comes in there`s no question he would have to sold. Whatever happens, he will have a great career. The thought of Madine as chief goal-scorer is frightening…

Keep.
