Jermaine Beckford was brought in to solve a problem. Is he creating one?
Has he had a shot? Has He? Has Jermaine Beckford had a shot at goal for Bolton Wanderers? If he has, I`ve missed it.
The man who was brought in from Leicester City on a two-year deal to solve the Whites` goal-scoring deficiencies has had a slow start. Actually, to say he`s had a slow start to his Wanderers career is doing a disservice to people who have slow starts. Jermaine Beckford`s start to the season hasn`t happened. Beckford`s season hasn`t begun yet.
Don`t get me wrong, he`s there, on the pitch, I`ve seen him. But from a footballing perspective, he hasn`t been.
In the 150 or-so minutes Beckford has ‘played` in the opening two games, I don`t think he`s managed to muster a single shot at goal, never mind get on the score sheet.
This story is obviously in its infancy, so I will add pages to the protagonist`s journey as, when, or even if, they happen?
