Vote for the Vital Bolton December Player of the Month

December has been another strong month. Progression into the FA Cup third round, plus we went back into the top two, winning three of our four league games.

We’ve nominated four players, with the vote closing at 10pm on Wednesday night. You can either scroll down if you’re on a phone, or use the poll section on the right if you’re a desktop user.

SAMMY AMEOBI
I hope we can sort out a loan extension sooner rather than later. Scored belters in succesive games against Sheffield United and Gillingham, and provides that unpredictability factor. A player that gets people out of their seats.

GARY MADINE
It’s almost fashionable to slag off Madine, but he has been playing well recently. As is the case with any striker, scoring goals helps no end, and he managed two against Gillingham. But it is his role as a target man which has helped carve out situations for us, and some seem unwilling or unable to spot his influence.

JOSH VELA
I keep referring to him as the complete footballer, but I’m entirely unaplogetic on it. Usually good for a goal, a good goal at it, and quite frankly the fulcrum that most moves are built around, it has been another strong month from Vela. When he plays well, the team plays well.

DAVID WHEATER
Again, our defence has been on form largely, with three goals conceded in four league games. Actually, that’s pretty leaky by recent standards. Wheater’s done the business at both ends though, with his consistent performances aided by the double against Shewsbury on Boxing Day.
