The EFL Awards ceremony is definitely nearing, as is the end of the season, as yesterday saw the three Football League Select XI’s of 2016 named.

Each of the 72 member clubs nominated a local media representative who then went on to select a team of 11 players and a manager, but importantly not including the team that they cover.

All the votes from around the country and the three divisions were then tallied, and based on a 443 formation, the following select XI’s were produced.

League One:

Defender: Joe Meredith (Bradford City)
Defender: Mark Beevers (Bolton Wanderers)
Defender: David Wheater (Bolton Wanderers)
