Evatt Cleared To Be In The Dugout As Bolton Go To Mansfield

|

Bolton face a midweek test tomorrow when they travel to Mansfield Town.

There just seems to be a little bit of pressure on Ian Evatt – whether that actually has translated into any real danger in his job security, well it probably hasn’t, but he has to use his pre-match press conference to plea for patience from the fanbase. Evatt will be in the dugout on Tuesday after it was announced that he wouldn’t face an FA charge over his apparent conduct to that excuse of a referee on Saturday.

Team news

It looks like a fairly similar crop of players to Saturday’s loss at Tranmere. Ryan Delaney is suspended, so a change will have to be made at the back, while Declan John and Kieran Lee remain sidelined – Lee is set to be available at the weekend, but John will have to wait longer still.

Previously

This will be Bolton’s first trip to Field Mill since a 1-1 in April 1993 en route to promotion from the third tier. It was also 1-1 after we played them at home back in November.

The opposition

We’re only away to the form side in the division, aren’t we? Nigel Clough has dramatically improved the Stags since he took over, from relegation battlers to being mid-table, three points above us, and having won their last five league matches. Jamal Reid has scored in the last two, while one-time Wanderer Harry Charsley plays for them.

Prediction

Mansfield will go 2-0 up, then we’ll start playing and pull one back, and lose 2-1.
