Forget About It

I think it’s time to admit to ourselves that Craig Dawson will not be coming back to the Reebok anytime soon

I think we can forget about Craig Dawson coming back to the Reebok anytime soon, if ever again.

Dougie brought Dawson to the Whites in January 2013 and reportedly fought off interest from Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest for his services.
The centre-half made a huge impact in Wanderers’ late surge towards the Play-Offs last term, but Dougie Freedman admits frustration towards his inability to make the deal a permanent one.

Now, it would seem, a repeated chase for the England under-21 international isn`t in the manager`s psyche, after it was disclosed by West Brom and the defenders agent that Dawson wants to stay put and fight for first-team football in the Premier League.

Can`t blame the lad, I suppose, especially with Wanderers` uncertainties and the imminent arrival of a new man in charge at the Hawthorns.

I`d normally say ‘watch this space`, but like our manager, I`d scour the other teams` squads to find an alternate defensive reinforcement.

Please, discuss?
