Hated Owners, Defensive Absences and Misfiring Strikers: Hull City Scouting Report

|

We write a lot of rubbish on Vital Bolton analysing a lot of rubbish, so let’s turn our attention to another type of rubbish as we look at Hull City, tomorrows opponents.

Their season so far

Worse than ours – a huge number of summer signings made by Nigel Adkins, including a revamped defence, has still not resulted in an improvement of fortunes for a club that were at one point dragged into the relegation fight last season. The Tigers are in the bottom three, without a win since beating Ipswich at home on September 15.

Who to watch for

Anyone that’s fit seemingly. Hull set to be without four of their five senior centre-backs this weekend, including Reece Burke, who you may remember from such Wanderers seasons as last season. As someone inevitably would quip on Twitter, luckily for them, we probably won’t be planning on attacking. On paper they do have a decent front three, with youngster Jarrod Bowen, Derby loanee Chris Martin and Polish international Kamil Grosicki all starting their last game, but neither Martin nor Grosicki have actually found the net so far this season. Bowen, however, has four goals.

Allams out?

No, the hated owners are still there, although there has been the noise of a takeover with the supporters trust having part-involvement.
