Hissing Cid Slithers back to France

Now that he`s safely in the confines of Nice, former Bolton ‘defender` Gerald Cid has wasted no time in having a pop at the club, who unwisely gave him a chance in English football. Many fans have nominated Cid as the worst Bolton player ever, which is some achievement given that the club were in the lower leagues not that long ago. We were never admirers of the Frenchman on Vital Bolton, as the article here, written back in August shows.

‘Bolton remains a disappointment,’ Cid told L’Equipe. ‘I feel as though I worked less during training sessions than I ever did in France.

‘We kept all of our energy for the matches. We would have a long warm-up, small games, but often every day was the same.

‘To me training sessions are important if you want to improve, and that was not going to happen.’

Whilst Cid`s disappointment is understandable, there are aren`t the hours in a day to accommodate enough training sessions to make him a passable player, as Nice are about to find out.

‘Some people have told me that I was mad to leave,’ he continued. Clearly, young Gerald has been talking to the wrong people. Bolton fans think it`s the best thing he ever did.
