Jussi : I Never Thought About Leaving

Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen has revealed that he made the decision to stay with the club at the start of the year.

‘Gary Megson told me in January, February time that he was going to offer me a new deal at the end of the season, so in my mind I have never thought about leaving,` the Finnish stopper told Sky Sports News.

Jaaskelainen was injured at the end of the season and Ali Al Habsi did more than deputise in his absence. Many Wanderers fans consider the Omani international to have done enough to be considered first choice – a fact which isn`t lost on Jaaskelainen.

‘Of course Ali played very well at the end of last season and will be more impressive, but I think that will bring the best out of everyone,` he said.
