Jussi Saves the Day

Jussi makes crucial saves. It’s part of his job, I know, but he does seem to be rather good at it. When Radzinski’s header was pushed over the crossbar in the dying moments, the three points were in the bag.

It should have been all over by that point. Although Fulham held their own for the first 20 minutes or so, Bolton soon got into their stride. When Anelka was clumsily bundled over in the penalty box, it was an obvious penalty. Gary Speed did what Gary Speed does and dispatched the spot-kick in a thoroughly professional manner.

Bolton were playing some lovely football at this point on a much improved playing surface. Nicolas Anelka was everywhere, showing enormous prescence when on the ball. He created a superb chance for Teymourian who brought a great save out of the Fulham keeper.

The second goal was not long in coming in the second half. A superb cross from Hunt was headed onto the post by Stelios and Nolan tapped in the rebound.

It shoudl have been all over but Fulham pulled a goal back. From a corner the ball broke to Zach Knight. As he was falling back, he directed a powerful header into the net. Game on.

Bolton had chances to restore the two goal lead but failed to take them. In the last five minutes, Fulham threw the proverbial kitchen sink at the Wanderers who managed to keep them at bay.

Once Jussi had save from Radzinski, it was all over.
