Zat Knight’s Bolton contract expires at the end of the season and at this point in time he doesn’t know if he will be with the club next season so he will ‘wait and see’.

It was his goal that secured Bolton a point in the weekend draw with Yeovil Town with him just happy to be playing, he would have traded that goal if it brought a cleansheet.

His time at the Reebok hasn’t always been easy for the 33-year-old but it will be interesting to see what happens.

The defender told the Bolton News: ‘I’m just happy to be playing and, to be honest, I’d rather have kept a clean sheet than have scored a goal.

‘I’ve enjoyed five seasons here and one of my main objectives in staying here in the first place was to get the club back into the Premier League, back to the club I started at. It hasn’t been possible in the last two years, so now I can only wait and see what happens at the end of the season.’

From the outside looking in it would seem unlikely that his contract will be extended beyond this season?

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
