Bolton fan think it’s ‘great banter’
A Bolton Wanderers fan has revealed how he thinks tricking people into think the Trotters have re-signed Adam Le Fondre is absolutely hilarious.
John Johnson, who normally works in Subway, found the tweet announcing Le Fondre’s arrival back in 2015, and shared it, commenting ‘I’m so glad he’s back.’
Speaking to reporters, he said, ‘It’s funny, because even though it’s an old tweet, it’ll get people’s hopes up, and they’ll think he’s signed, because they want him to, but actually it’s an old tweet, and he’s not really signed. I think it’s great banter.’
When told the idea wasn’t remotely original, Johnson suggested he didn’t care, and planned to put out a similar tweet later in the week.
