Dear Portsmouth,
We write concerning one Matthew Taylor, who we purchased in January, having been assured that he was a footballer who conformed to Premier League standards. Section 14 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 requires you to supply goods that are of a merchantable quality and fit for their specific purpose. Mr Taylor`s performances indicate that this is not the case and we are therefore returning him to you for a full refund. We look forward to receiving a cheque from you for the purchase price of £3.5 million.
Yours sincerely,
Bolton Wanderers Football Club
