Ex-Bolton and Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce made a significant departure from his usual habit of begging for jobs over the weekend, as he distanced himself from speculation linking him with Blackburn.
‘As far as I am concerned, there was a chance that I talked to Blackburn when it was between me, Paul Ince and Steve McClaren,` Allardyce told the Lancashire Telegraph, ‘but that has been the sum total of any contact between me and Blackburn since then. There`s nothing in it at the moment.`
However, that was yesterday. Blackburn still had a manager then. Now they don`t. Sam is probably already in his car and hurtling up the A666 as this article is being written.
