Bolton fans, at least some of them, are unbelievable, and not in a good way. After one game of the new season there are calls for Sammy Lee to be sacked. Anyone of that opinion is in need of an urgent pre-frontal lobotomy. The result at the weekend was disappointing, especially given that it was against Fatty`s new side, but the reaction in some quarters is more than a little OTT.

Lee has a massive job to do. Sam Allardyce boasts that he left Bolton in good shape, but the truth is that the side he left behind had major problems in midfield and defence and was low in numbers and morale. Bolton under Allardyce won a mere four league games in 2007.

Sammy Lee`s players let him down badly on Saturday, especially in the first half. Now it seems that the fans are doing the same. It`s time to get behind the club and its manager. The undisguised glee with which Saturday`s result was reported by the media should provide a spur, if any is needed.

Predictions of the demise of Bolton Wanderers have been proved wrong before. Get behind Sammy Lee and give the man time to do his job and they will be again. Rallying call over.
