Sunderland Humiliated

With Bolton having the night off because of UEFA cup commitments, it was time to have a look around the grounds in order to find some amusement. And very good it was too.

Up the road in Inbredville, a larger than usual crowd of 5,440 watched Hull City, led by ex-Bolton assistant manager Phil Brown, outclass Wigan. Nice one Suntan.

In the murky depths of the West Midlands, Wolves met a similar fate, going down 3-1 at home to Football League new boys, Morecambe. They`re a big club Wolves you know.

The biggest laugh was at Kenilworth Road, as Premiership whipping boys Sunderland were comprehensively beaten by Luton Town. A thrashing at Wigan, surrender against Liverpool, and now humiliation by a League One side. Things were so bad that Greg Halford got himself sent off deliberately, as he was so embarrassed.

Mackems fans, many of whom were tipping Roy Keane`s side for a Champions League place this season, are now slowly getting back to reality. The quote below, taken from a Sunderland message board, is produced entirely as written, apart from a few judiciously placed asterisks.

‘f*** off all you keane brown nosers his management must come into question now. Hes blew an absolute fortune on utter f****** w*** and now where down 3-0 to a team which are in the third tier of english football. Im sure you are expecting the likes of etuhu and halford to become world class as ‘in keane we trust’ Even if these sort of players are just having a slow start theres no f****** way we should be 0-0 against luton town never mind 3 down.`

Quite. Never mind lads, at least you`re not playing the league champions at the weekend. Oh, hold on?
