The Ever Modest Mr Allardyce

Ex-Bolton and Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce must think Christmas has come early. After being on the dole for the best part of a year, there is one Premier League vacancy at Sunderland, and another is likely to appear at Blackburn, unless Paul Ince gets his act together.

As ever, when there`s a job going, Sam has found a microphone in front of his face quite frequently in the past few days. One suspects that he`s got his own camera crew bunked up in the garage in case of such eventualities.

Speaking on Allardyce TV, the former Wanderers manager was asked if he was impressed with Gary Megson’s recent efforts at the Reebok: ‘There was a hugely successful operation that I built there,` he said, ‘that`s no longer the case, that`s completely changed from every aspect now, and of course, rebuilding takes time and the rebuilding has taken place on the field and off the field and if that rebuilding is as good as what I did, they might get back to where I did, and if it`s not, they probably won`t.`

Is he impressed by the Ginger One? If anyone can glean an answer from the above ramble, then let us know.
