Bolton are chasing the loan signing of Lukas Jutkiewicz from ‘Boro
It’s no secret that David Ngog is in advanced talks with Swansea over a move away from the Reebok. It’s also no secret that the impending switch in clubs by the Frenchman is imperative to kick-start Dougie’s recruitment drive this week.
What will come as a surprise to us Bolton supporters- and a disappointment to many- is the first name out of the hat linked to our club.
Bolton Wanderers have many needs, on and off the pitch. Our defence is a small tapestry at the minute, consisting of very few pieces stitched together to make an ineffectual 4-piece rag.
Defence aside, Wanderers’ front-line is virtually non-existent. Sordell and Eaves out on-loan; Beckford injured and the aforementioned Ngog doing a deal elsewhere, Craig Davies was the only attacker at Dougie’s disposal for the visit of Cardiff.
With Danny Graham still being mentioned in the press as a possible suitor, a small tinge of inevitability washed over me when I read a headline this morning, outlining Dougie’s closeness to securing a loan-deal for a striker.
Turns out, it’s not Danny Graham at all who is being chased. It’s Middlesbrough’s out-of-favour and out-of-form attacker, Lukas Jutkiewicz.
I know, me neither…
To be fair to the lad, he has got some positives on his side. He is only 24-years-old and he has played for Everton. Erm? What else can I tell you? He’s tall and he’s scored 11 goals in 63 appearances in his 3 seasons at ‘Boro.
Are you anymore excited than I am at being linked with Lukas? Am I doing the lad a disservice? Is he a diamond in the rough who’s being overlooked?
Tell me I’m wrong… Please, tell me I’m wrong.
