Wanderers started their preparations for a return to League One with a 3-1 win over the NWCFL Premier Division side. They fell behind playing in a disjointed first half side. Wanderers had chances, but Evatt explained the finishing should have been better. Antoni Sarcevic came off with a hamstring injury in the first half, Ronan Darcy came on for the remainder of the half, before an entirely different team played in the second half (bar Darcy, who stayed on). They got the job done, with goals coming from Harry Brockbank, Amadou Bakayoko and Darcy finishing it off in stoppage time.
