Bolton under eighteens will take on Liverpool tonight at Anfield in the quarter final of the FA Youth Cup. It is the first time that the club have reached this stage since the 1971-2 season. On that occasion, they lost to Arsenal 1-0 in front of a very respectable crowd at Burnden Park with players such as Neil Whatmore, Peter Reid and Sam Allardyce on show.

The first team played at Wrexham that day and news of the game was conveyed to the crowd via a blackboard carried along the touchline. They came from behind to win 2-1 with Liverpool old boy Roger Hunt twice on target.

Good luck to the lads tonight as they attempt to go a stage further.
