Vital Bolton readers have voted Fabrice Muamba flop of the season. With 49% he was comfortably ahead of Johan Elmander on 31%. It ought be a worry to Gary Megson that players who cost a combined total of £13.5 million, a large amount by Bolton standards, garnered four-fifths of the poll.

Muamba has performed impressively on occasion, but most of the time he hasn`t. The ease with which he surrenders possession and is drawn out of position, negates his ball winning skills.

At the age of twenty-one, and with another Premier League campaign under his belt, he still has time to come up to the required level, but Muamba has it all to prove next season.

Don`t forget that there`s still time to vote in the Bolton Player of the season poll. Kevin Davies has a healthy lead at present, but do have a liking for Matthew Taylor, Ricardo Gardner or Kevin Nolan?
