Bolton Wanderers are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Sammy Ameobi in the two one victory over Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend at the Macron Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Ameobi was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Ameobi returned to the Macron Stadium with the first goal as Bolton finally recorded a first win of the season, defeating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1. The 25-year-old`s effort was also the Trotters` first goal in nine matches, and he finished in some style too, with his curling left-footed effort from distance named Championship Goal of the Weekend.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Ameobi for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Dan Bentley (Brentford), Leandro Bacuna (Reading), Ben Richards-Everton (Accrington Stanley), Chris Basham (Sheffield United), Matty Taylor (Swindon Town), Diogo Jota (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Luke Berry (Luton Town), Sammy Ameobi (Bolton Wanderers), Oliver Hawkins (Portsmouth), Tom Pope (Port Vale), Padraig Amond (Newport County).
