(Another) Eagle Has Landed

Dougie Freedman, like most to be fair, is a boss that likes familiarity and isn’t afraid to turn to who or what he knows and has often been linked to players previously worked with.

In some instances these rumours have come true and he has brought in players with previous to him, such as Dean Moxey this summer for example but another that has now been confirmed as a Wanderers signing this summer, that worked with him at Crystal Palace, is Quade Taylor.

The premier league side released the 20-year-old defender this summer without making a first-team appearance but this hasn’t stopped Freedman from snapping him up on a one-year contract and giving him the chance to rebuild his career at the Macron Stadium.

Another defender, this time without any previous, being linked with the club is Liam Fontaine.

Fontaine is now a free agent, having left Bristol City this summer after eight-years with the club, but is now training with Wanderers as far as what sky sports ‘understands’ as he looks to impress Freedman into giving him a contract.

You’d think that Taylor’s signing would make it unlikely that 28-year-old Fontaine will be joining us as well though?

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
