Another Win For Bolton and Ian Evatt’s Team Talk

|

Bolton made it two wins from two in pre-season last night as they beat Atherton Colls 4-0 at the Skuna Stadium.

Despite having almost all of the chances in the first half, Wanderers couldn’t make a breakthrough, Dapo Afolayan had about three seperate opportunities but it would be goalless at the break

Ten changes were made at the break, Xavier Amaechi, who Ian Evatt has said needs the most work to get up to full fitness, was the one player to stay on, or at least for 15 more minutes, until Brandon Comley got a run out. It would take until the final 20 minutes for Bolton to take the lead, but once they did, the floodgates would open. Firstly, George Thomason was set up by Gethin Jones low cross to open the scoring. Just moments later, Nathan Delfouneso hit the woodwork, and moments after that, he scored, getting on the end of another full-back cross, this time from Liam Gordon on the left.

There would be two further goals in stoppage time, with Ronan Darcy scoring in consecutive matches to make it three, before Delfouneso scored his second of the night right at the death.

Sharon Brittan was at the match and could be spotted doing the rounds to speak to fans. Meanwhile, Evatt gave some of his half-time team talk on the pitch. It’s a nice little insight on how he goes about things.
