‘Arry`s Good Fortune?

The most bizarre transfer story of the summer (and that`s saying something) comes from the Daily Mail, who report that Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is to make a move for former Bolton crock, Quinton Fortune. The former Manchester United player made six appearances for the Wanderers and was last seen limping off against Arsenal in 2006 with a serious achilles problem. The Mail state that he`s available on a free from Bolton, which is something of a surprise as his contract there ended a year ago. Maybe he`s not been fit enough to leave the treatment room.

Fortune was undoubtedly a class act, but spent most of time at United and Bolton on the physio`s table. ‘Arry`s been known to spring the odd surprise, but short of using the services of a witch doctor it`s difficult to imagine that even he can keep the South African fit. A job lot of support bandages and painkillers is available at the Reebok Stadium, if Portsmouth wish to make an offer.
