Bolton have brought in a further signing at centre-back, with the arrival of Will Aimson from Plymouth Argyle.
Aimson knows the North West quite well, being part of Bury’s final ever season, where he won promotion, before following Ryan Lowe down to Devon. He barely played in his first season there, but he played regularly last season in League One.
I can’t say I know a massive amount about him, but a quick trawl through various online articles seem to point out he’s decent enough. He can put the blocks in and do the heading, even if he isn’t 6ft tall. Being right-footed, and along with Ian Evatt’s comments about him providing ‘competition’ to the squad, I assume the plan would be back up to Ricardo Santos – who is top of the lost if you’re ranking all our central defenders.
On top of his Bury promotion, he was also in the Blackpool squad who got promoted, so despite being 26 he has plenty of experience. He’s a solid enough signing, presumably a replacement for Ryan Delaney.
