Pre-season continued with Bolton heading to Merseyside on Friday for a game against league 2 outfit Tranmere Rovers.

Bolton did lead but were pegged back by Tranmere in the end in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw at Prenton Park.

Jay Spearing, who would have felt right at home back in local surroundings, finished into the bottom corner late in the first half to give Wanderers the lead with this one-nil advantage taken into the break.

A win was looking on but with a little over 15-minutes to play Eliot Richards finished from close range to ensure that the game ended in a one-one draw.

The main thing was further minutes played and fitness built up with several players given the full 90-minutes by Dougie Freedman.

Bolton: Lonergan, McNaughton (Riley 46), Mills, Dervite, Moxey, Spearing (Ream 69), Danns (Youngs 81), Pratley (Medo 56), M Davies (Feeney 46), Beckford (Wilkinson 46), C Davies (Lee 63)
Unused substitutes: Fitzsimons, White, Lester, Bolger

On Saturday a predominantly youthful Wanderers sides, listed as a Bolton XI, were in action against Chorley with the Harold Taylor Memorial Trophy won by Chorley following a 2-1 win.

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
