Bolton Respond By Beating Championship Opposition

|

After Saturday’s poor performance against FC United, Bolton massively stepped up their levels and maintained their unbeaten pre-season with a 1-0 win over Championship side Preston North End.

Gethin Jones scored the only goal of the match, early on in the second half he got forward to get on the end of a pass and put a shot past Preston’s substitute goalkeeper Mathew Hudson. Bar an even first few minutes, Ian Evatt was happy to say that Wanderers were the better side for the majority of the match.

Many players got a longer run-out too. Apart from Xavier Amaechi, who came off after 20 minutes or so and was spotted with a protective boot, the rest of the starting XI got about 65 to 70 minutes before the obligatory raft of changes.

You can watch Ian Evatt’s post-match interview here.

Bolton: Dixon, Jones (Brockbank 63), Almeida Santos (Aimson 68), Baptiste (Senior 75), Gordon, Sheehan (Thomason 66), Williams, Sarcevic (Tutte 68), Amaechi (Delfouneso 21), Afolayan (Darcy 66), Bakayoko (Conway 75)

Congratulations Bolton you beat our reserve team 1-0 at the County Leyland.

Don’t think for a minute that the side you played against last night will kick off against Hull in the Championship.

Also we play at Deepdale not Leyland so don’t brag about beating us away.

BWFC are, and always be lower league shite.
