Bolton won’t be in action on Boxing Day after the match against Morecambe was postponed.
We were set to host the Shrimps but having seen our match called off last weekend, this one has also gone the same way. The official statement was very light in detail, saying there were a number of positive cases in the squad, with no comment on if there had been any more, or if the players who had been affected were better.
Ironically we were meant to play Morecambe at home around the same time last year, but that was called off because of a COVID outbreak in their squad,
Our next scheduled match is away to Burton next Wednesday. Even if that does go ahead, it’s not impossible it could be behind closed doors, given the noise around possible tightening of precautions in England, and with Wales moving all sport behind closed doors as of Boxing Day.
At least we might get a few players fit by then…
