Bolton have made their third signing of the week, bringing in veteran striker Aaron Wilbraham in from Bristol City.

Weirdly, the club`s initial announcement declared an undisclosed fee, which would go against the terms of our transfer embargo, before it quickly emerged that we might have been become the first club in the world to not disclose a transfer fee of £0.

Wilbraham had agreed a deal to stay for another year down in Bristol, where he would have taken a player-coach role. But the Cheshire native wanted to return home and the prospect of still playing a reasonable part on the pitch seems to have persuaded him to make the move to the Macron.

Don`t expect Wilbrahamovic, as some Bristolians dubbed him, to significantly improve the team. He seems to have experience and a very good attitude, and will be happy to be a back-up target man to Gary Madine. He scored five times last season, and will surely be an upgrade on Conor Wilkinson and Jamie Proctor, whose performances playing the Madine role last season were hopeless at best.

Wanderers are in for another oldie too, with Julio Baptista being linked with a move. Those with a good memory may remember a season spent on loan at Arsenal back in 2006-07, scoring three goals in 24 Premiership appearances.

He has been without a club all year, after a spell in the USA with Orlando City last year, where he scored a reasonable six in 24 MLS games.
