Boss Makes Holden Vow

Will Stuart Holden play for Bolton again? Arguably the biggest question at the moment is will the midfielder play football again full stop.

The American is back in his homeland and will undergo yet another knee operation, which will be his fourth in three-years, but Dougie Freedman has said he’ll give Holden as much chance, and time, as he can to comeback…. Again.

He has said that he ‘wants him here for many, many years to come’ and ideally this will be as a player but the 28-year-old could get involved in another capacity if needed but that isn’t a scenario he wants to think about too much at the moment.

Last week the Bolton boss told the Bolton News: ‘As long as I’m at this football club – and I’ll speak for Phil Gartside and Eddie Davies too – Stu will be a part of it.

‘With everyone’s best intention, Stu will be a part of this club as a player, on the pitch, playing. There are many different ideas we’ve got with other things, but right now I’m backing him because he wants to carry on playing.’

His thoughts to others, and how they are developing and not his own future, is something he is often doing and this brought extra praise for him.

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
