Will our goalkeeper, manager and us fans catch a break

We`ve all got our personal reasons for believing whom or what is to blame for Bolton`s misfortunes. Managers, owners, players and pure, darn bad luck have all had the finger of blame pointed at them. Rife discussions surrounding blame aside, the players themselves have divided opinion amongst supporters and critics alike. No-one more so than our first-choice goalkeeper, Adam Bogdan.

Now, all the fans who believe Andy Lonergan- or even Jay Lynch for that matter- should get the nod in place of the Hungarian shot-stopper, are about to get their wish.

In a training ground practice session, Bogdan injured ligaments in his knee and will be sidelined for anything up to 6 weeks. It was feared the injury would keep Adam out for longer, but doctors have since confirmed the accident wasn`t as bad as first feared.

An injury for a player can never be a good thing or come at a right time, but for Adam Bogdan, it`s especially demoralising. After being dropped from the Hungarian national team, where the Van Persie-led Dutch put 8 past him, he kept his place in the Wanderers` side and played a blinder against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ipswich will visit the Reebok this Saturday and all the Bogdan-bashers will be able to envision the team without the Hungarian between the sticks. If Lonergan, or indeed Lynch, impresses to the point where Bogdan`s place is in real jeopardy, where will that leave the Hungarian? Will Dougie stick to his word and keep Adam as his no.1? Or will we see a changing-of-the-guard at goalkeeper?

More questions than answers for our manager. When is he going to catch a break?
