David Wheater and Craig Davies are being linked to moves away from the Reebok

Let`s take our minds away from the whole unbeaten run of games, shall we? It`s been great to be back with the football-living again, but if we continue to focus heavily on the positives for too long, disappointment and demoralisation can only be the by-product. That is unless, of course, the Wanderers team make like the Invincibles of Arsenal and play out the remainder of the Championship campaign undefeated? Nah, me neither.

Right, speculation yesterday was rife as Bolton duo David Wheater and Craig Davies were linked with moves away from the club, ahead of Thursday’s loan window deadline.

As we`ve been aware- but maybe not that bothered- Wheater hasn’t featured for the first-team since a 3-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion in September.
Fitness has definitely been an issue for both Wheater and Davies, but the former`s form has been crippled by the long layoff he endured after the knee-ligament damage suffered in May 2012 against West Brom at the Reebok.

Craig Davies has made two brief substitute appearances since injuring his ankle at Blackburn Rovers in August, but with his fitness also in question before the busy Chrimbo and New Year period, a loan move away from home may benefit both Wheater and Cravies for the immediate future.

Surprisingly, Craig Davies` admirer is Sean Dyche of free-scoring Burnley, while David Wheater`s coveter comes from over the Pennines from Championship rivals, Doncaster.
Wheater`s move away from the Reebok makes perfect sense, especially if he was assured of first-team football. 3 defenders- Tim Ream, Matt Mills and Zat Knight- currently stand above Wheater in the pecking order for a first-team slot, so game-time for the benefit of David and Bolton is premium.

Any loan move for Craig Davies could hinge on whether Dougie manages to secure the services of Cardiff City`s Joe Mason- or an alternative attacking option. But with Blackburn Rovers snatching Mason`s team-mate, Rudy Gestede recently, that again adds question marks over the young, Welsh forward’s availability.
