Neil Lennon apparently

So one of the fun things about doing this is seeing what people say in the comments. I’ll often suggest something and you’ll say whether you agree or disagree and explain why etc… and that’s great.

However, things seem to recently have reached a different level. At Vital Bolton HQ we like to suggest players for our Bolton to sign. The team’s lack of funds does make this rather challenging as we rake our brains to think of bargains and this is why I often suggest we sign Crewe Alexandra players.

Well you may well recall me insisting that we should have a second choice ‘keeper- 1) because I’m scared of Ben Amos getting injured and 2) because I think every player needs competition. By all accounts Ross Fitzsimons is a talented young goalie and may well be able to challenge in the future, but for now I think he needs to focus on his U21 football and I thought some experience would come in handy. So, weeks ago I suggested Paul Rachubka recently released by Crewe. Proof: http://www.bolton.vitalfootball.co.uk/sitepage.asp?a=405168

So, our manager Neil Lennon has not commented on the site saying that he’d probably be a good signing and talked about Gartside and Kevin Davies and the matchday pies etc… but he’s only gone and listened to our advice and taken it.

Now, Lennon, now that we know you’re listening, how about some more suggestions? Kyle Lafferty has been mentioned a few times by fans as someone who could end our goalscoring woes- and what a good signing he’d be! If we could get the likes of Medo Kamara off our books (although he did mention that we lacked takers which makes me think that the Bristol City interest may have ended), we could be able to afford one.

We certainly do need a striker and some may question that the money spent to bring in Rachubka would be better spent to bring in a striker. I think that the important thing is that we don’t just sign a striker for the sake of it- we need a good one and good one’s cost money. One very small wage won’t cover that difference and if we want to play a striker that may not be quite good enough yet then we already have enough.

Let’s bide our time and hope that something pops up. Doesn’t that sound like a good idea, Lenny?
