Stuart Holden is my man-crush and I don’t mind admitting it

Oh, I do love writing the words, ‘Stuart Holden`. Not just because it feels good under the fingertips, but because those two words stir a number of emotions, memories and hopes.

There could easily have been a time nowadays, where the only reason people associated with Bolton Wanderers would write the words Stuart Holden, would be only to reference better times for the football club. But because our management decided to renew the United States` midfielder`s contract in the summer, people writing about the Reebok activities can refer to the words ‘Stuart Holden` as a current member of the Wanderers` player-setup.

Having said that, in the last two years, the majority of the ‘Stuart Holden` prose has been: to catalogue the decline in fitness of the talismanic dynamo.

This little piece of ‘Stuart Holden` dialogue is to cite the fitness of the combative ball-hawk, but it’s to mention an upturn in health for the American.

Stuart Holden is currently in the US working hard on his rehabilitation with- you would assume- some of the best knee-specialists in the world. In a few weeks time, like Mavies, Wanderers` supporters may get the chance to see Holden training with the rest of the Bolton squad. StU.S.A is flying back to the Reebok in December for Dougie Freedman to give him the once-over and then he`s back to the States for his final leg of treatment.

Holden is said to be in good spirits and his rehabilitation, from another knee-injury, well on schedule. But everyone willing Stuart a speedy return to the Whites` squad will have to sit on their hands for the time being, as Dougie states Holden will not be rushed back.

I for one don`t really care when Stuart Holden is ready to return to the Bolton setup because I`m just glad he`s still a Wanderers` player. As long as the midfielder returns to action with our club, resembling the footballer he was before Jonny Evans` boot got lodged into his knee, will be fine by me.

Some things are worth waiting for.
