Zach Clough was obviously a happy man at full time in our game against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.

Returning from a three odd week lay off with injury, and making his starting league debut for the club, to celebrate the full time whistle with two goals means the day couldn’t have gone much better for him – but speaking to the Official Site there was a disappointment that they weren’t two goals that returned three points.

‘It’s a good point at home for us. We were in front and unlucky to concede in the last minute. We do feel down about it but you’ve got to take the positives and go again. I was sat in the ice bath when one of the lads shouted down that they’d equalised. I felt gutted but it’s another point for us at the end of the day.’

Having made his maiden bow for us against Wigan earlier in the month, he admits it has been a frustrating time for him being out injury because he was hoping to kick on, but with it being a ‘long’ three weeks for him, I’m just pleased to be back fit now and back involved.

‘I was a bit tired because I’d only trained twice but it was great to get back out there, to make my league debut and to score a couple of goals. I enjoyed it very much.’

Clough ends his little after match interview by saying that he’s relishing the opportunity to play alongside Adam Le Fondre now as he knows he can only improve his own game as he learns from him, but he also felt they did well together in the match so it bodes well for a future striking partnership.
