Cup Fixture List Ripped Up

|

Bolton have seen their upcoming cup fixtures shuffled around.

The FA Cup first round tie against Stockport has been pushed back a day to Sunday. It will still kick-off at 3pm, but has been moved so the BBC can feature it in their Final Score programme, which will show instant highlights from that and other matches. It’ll also be shown live in certain countries around the world.

That has also had a knock-on effect regarding the Papa John’s Trophy match at Rochdale. Originally scheduled for two days after the Stockport match, and with us playing Crewe in the league the following Friday, it meant either moving the Rochdale game to another week, or playing two days apart – so we’re now playing Rochdale on Tuesday 2nd November, with a 7pm kick-off.

While the Crewe game could have been pushed back to a Saturday, the club probably didn’t want to do that having rightly committed that weekend for the Gethin Jones MND fundraising events.
